Can Tho City

Can Tho is the largest city in the Mekong Delta and is the delta’s most important centre of economics, culture, science and technology. A developing city, it has a large freshwater port and two industrial parks, which are indications of Can Tho’s importance to the region. Can Tho is around a 3.5 hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Conveniently, the city is also easily accessible from Da Nang and Hanoi via Can Tho International Airport.

Local Ecotourism sites attract local and foreign visitors with their natural landscapes and tropical fruit gardens. Can Tho is famous for its unique floating market where wholesalers meet on the river to sell fruits, vegetables and a myriad of other food products. Visitors can take boat rides to the floating markets, with early morning being the best time to visit given this is when the markets are at their most vibrant. You can even get breakfast on the water! This also gives the opportunity to see how local people live in their boat-houses and their lives on the water.
